Author: Manpreet KainthThere are a lot of different types of cars around the world. Some of them are decent, while some of them are expensive. Some people wonder why some are expensive and some are decently priced? The answer is mostly that some cars are really fast and are made from different things. Some of us wonder what are some of the fastest cars in the world? So here they are. The fifth fastest car in the world is the SSC Ultimate Aero. The car was released around 2006. It is not a well known car. It is also called the Shelby Super Car. This was the car that beat the Bugatti Veyron. This car’s top speed was 257mph! The fourth fastest car in the world is the Bugatti Chiron. The car was released on June 1, 2018. The Bugatti Chiron is a really powerful car. It can reach a top speed of 261mph! It is very limited because of safety issues. The Chiron could not match the Veyron Super Sport because of the safety issue. The third fastest car in the world is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. The SSC Ultimate Aero kept its top speed until 2010, when the Bugatti beat it with the Veyron Super Sport. This car has 10 radiators to prevent overheating because of the high speeds. The top speed is 268mph because of the power. The car is almost $3 million. The second fastest car in the world is the Hennessey Venom GT. The car’s design was based off of a Lotus Exige. The car was tested at the space shuttle runway at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida in 2014. While it was testing, it beat the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport with its speed. The car’s top speed was 270mph! The fastest car in the world is the Koenigsegg Agera RS. This car set a Guinness Book world record for its top speed. Its top speed is 278mph, achieved in November 2017. The car was released on November 4, 2017. The car costs around $1.14 million. As you can see, there are many types of cars in the world. The price usually depends on if it is fast or what it is made from. Some cars are a decent price because it probably isn’t made from what expensive cars are made from. Some cars are expensive because of the materials the car is made from. So, there you have it. The top fastest cars in the world are the Koenigsegg Agera RS, Hennessey Venom GT, Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, Bugatti Chiron, and the SSC Ultimate Aero.
Author: Adara ManzoCoronavirus isn’t new. It has been here for a long time, but it never affected humans. We started it by eating foods we are not supposed to. But, don’t overreact. Here are some things to help. Don't panic buy - don't feed into the hysteria. Your best bet is to stay calm and help others around you remain calm as well. Panic buying won't help anyone, not even yourself. Food has an expiration date as well. It would be so much more useful to save your money for actual emergencies. Also, masks only work for people who are already sick. Be mindful. It doesn't take much to stay safe and clean from the virus. Practice mindfulness. This also helps with not panicking. Slowing down to be aware of what you do, like what you touch and whom you're around, works much better than buying a mask or overloading with hand sanitizer. Do your research. Take everything with a grain of salt. Don't just listen to one radio show, one news station, one article. Don't overindulge with information and don't trust one source fully. For example, masks only work with keeping the sickness in, not keeping it out. Leave the masks for the people that really need it, like health care workers and the elderly who are affected by the virus. In the end, everything is going to be okay as long as you are reasonable about the situation. Just stay sanitary, buy your food, be prepared, don't overload, buy supplies for at least three weeks, and don’t believe rumors. So stay calm. Thank you for listening to my blog. Author: Karla MondragonOne day, there were two whales that were swimming in the ocean. Then, something went wrong. One whale went missing and the second whale couldn't find it. So, the second whale called more whales to help. This is one reason why whales communicate. Toothed whales communicate by using high frequency clicks and whistles. Another reason why whales communicate is to sing. When males sing, it lets females know that they are interested in reproducing. Singing also makes it clear to other males that they have claimed territory. It is very important for animals to communicate because without communicating, they won't be able to tell each other when there is danger, and they also need it to survive. Communication ensures that they have a chance at living a longer life. Author: Jordan Gardette
Author: Patrick FisherEverybody always wants a good ghost story. From bloody mary stories to weird made-up stories, you’ll go on a dangerous quest, one you can only do with your imagination. Starting with the not so scary ghost story to the scariest of them all, here are the top 10 scariest ghost stories.
#10. The Boy With No Mouth I made this story up so it might not be scary to you, and I got this off a mask at the halloween store, so if you know this mask please don’t get mad. This one starts off at a school with three kids, one boy, two girls. They were 10 to 14 years old when the boy who was named Jason had a really big mouth… he would always blurt out answers. He really wanted to stop, but that all changed when he fell asleep on a test on Friday. A ghost came to him and said these exact words, “Jason wake, you talk too much. I will fix that for you." She grabbed him and pulled him inside his dream. When he woke up he wanted to tell the teacher about the dream, but a voice in his ear said, "don’t do that or I’ll make this permanent.” Jason didn't know what the voice meant so he went to the bathroom to talk, but what he found there was not what he expected. He didn’t talk, because JASON DIDN’T HAVE A MOUTH! He went back to his classroom where he slept, his sister (who is 14) noticed his face and got scared. She told the teacher and Jason was rushed to the hospital. No matter how hard they tried they could not get his mouth back, so he went back to his class. His crush Piper looked at him with hatred, as if she thought Jason was an evil villain that she had to defeat. He sat in his chair and went to sleep. What he saw would’ve angered him for a million years. It was the ghost, but what she said made Jason’s heart stop. And this is what she said..."I will give you your mouth back as long as you promise not to blurt.” He was so excited that he agreed. When he woke up he raised his hand and spoke clear words out of his mouth. His crush Piper was quick to think, so she went to his table at lunch and told him she liked him. Jason would’ve been so happy if he hadn’t remembered when she looked at him. He said he didn’t like her back. And that right there is the end of the story. So apparently the ghost was a dead teacher who roamed the halls of that school. Was that scary for ya? I don’t think so, so let's keep going. #9. The Tower of London The Tower of London is in Britain, which was once home to King Henry the VIII. King Henry had many wives. Two of them he had executed for treason. The first one, Anne Boelyn, was beheaded and now haunts her own grave. But the 2nd one, Catherine, is trapped in the room awaiting her beheading and to this day, is heard screaming for forgiveness. So this next one is an Alcatraz story. Try not to get scared and stop reading ok. #8. Alcatraz- The Hole This famous prison saw many deaths in its day. Down in the depths of the prison was a room called "The Hole." It is where the prisoners who broke the rules were sent to be tormented. Those inside the prison believed the souls of the prisoners who died in the Hole were never able to leave. Soon guards and prisoners alike were reporting strange and disturbing sightings. One night, one of the prisoners began screaming for the guards to come help. He screamed that the man with the glowing eyes was there to kill him. The guards heard screaming so often in the dark dungeons that they just ignored the prisoner. Besides, they were there to suffer, right? The next morning, as the guards were making their rounds, they pounded on the cell door with no response. When they opened the door they were shocked to find the prisoner dead. He had been strangled to death and when they looked closer, they could see handprints around his throat. #7. The White Witch of Niles Canyon Niles Canyon is very close to us, just on the other side of Tracy. Every year, on February 26th, a young woman dressed in white appears on Niles Canyon Road. No one knows where she came from. Some say she was a young runaway who disappeared into the canyon sometime in 1938 and whose body was never found. To this day she is said to hitchhike her way home to San Francisco. But those who pick her up report that once they reach the toll bridge, she disappears. #6. Queen Mary The Queen Mary was a WWII transport ship. There were many tragic and mysterious deaths on the ship. One of the most tragic was the story of the little girl from the 3rd level who ventured to the upper deck for a little fun. She hopped onto the banister and began to slide down when a huge wave hit the ship, knocking her off balance. She fell from the banister and broke her neck. Now a hotel, the Queen Mary is said to be haunted by the spirit of the girl, along with two other women, who like to make waves at the pool. #5. Winchester Mystery Mansion Sarah Winchester was the heiress to the Winchester rifle fortune. She lost her only daughter and then her husband both to tragedy. After seeking advice from a psychic, she was told that she was cursed by the dead slain by the rifle. If she hoped to live she would have to build a house for the spirits, but if she ever stopped she would die. So Sarah Winchester bought a huge parcel in California and began building, and building, and building, day and night, all while holding seances to summon her dead husband and daughter. I’ve been to the Winchester Mansion before. #4. Breaking News - Mother and Sons Die Tragically The Congress Plaza Hotel is a famous hotel in Chicago, once home to the famous mobster, Al Capone. She then ran into the forest and took her own life. To this day her tormented spirit is said to wander the streets of Mexico searching for her children. #2. Bloody Mary 1 Late one night, two girls on a long road trip stopped for gas at an out of the way gas station. They needed fuel for themselves and the car and needed to use the bathroom. The girls were tired and worried about the long drive still ahead so, while in the bathroom, they decided to try the bloody mary chant, just for giggles. Looking into the dingy mirror, the first girl started. "Bloody Mary!" Nothing. They both laughed. "Bloody Mary!" A little flicker of the lights. No big deal. But the girls looked a little nervously at each other. She hesitated, but the girl looked at the mirror one last time. "Bloody Mary!" The lights went out! The girls grabbed each other screaming! The lights flickered back on and suddenly the mirror was covered in blood. They ran outside and realized their faces were also covered in blood. When they cleaned themselves off, they were terrified to find they both had fingernail scratches all over their faces. Nowwwwwwwwww for the scariest one we have all been waiting for! #1. Bloody Mary - She Won’t Tell Us What Happened A bunch of girls who went to school together got together for a sleepover. During the sleepover, the girls all dared one of the other girls to do the Bloody Mary chant. She refused at first, but eventually the girl went into the bathroom and closed the door. Suddenly the girls outside heard screaming. The girl inside the bathroom was trying to get out, but couldn’t even though the door wasn’t locked. They eventually opened the door and the girl came running out. Once she cooled down, she showed them her arms and they had scars all over them that weren’t there before. To this day she won't tell them what happened. Or maybe, she can’t! So were those scary to you or not? This was really fun. This was pretty scary, so let me know what you think. Author: Meher Kahlon

The Megalodon is the deadliest prehistoric animal that ever roamed the seas. The Megalodon is an extinct species of shark which was about 59 feet (18 meters) long and hunted in the seas until about 1.5 million years ago. It was similar to today's great white shark, but three times longer and 20 times heavier. Megalodon had more than 250 huge, razor-sharp teeth and its mouth was so huge that it could easily swallow a person. The fossils of its teeth were once thought to be the tongues of dragons or similar beasts. Saber-Toothed Cat The Sabre-toothed Cat, also called Sabre-toothed Tiger, were any of the extinct cat-like carnivores belonging to either the extinct family Nimravidae or the subfamily Machairodontinae of the cat family. Named for their pair of elongated, blade-like canine teeth in their upper jaw, they are often called Sabre-toothed Tigers, or Sabre-toothed Lions. The modern lion and tiger are true cats of the subfamily Felinae. Titanoboa Titanoboa (Titanoboa cerrejonensis) is an extinct snake that lived during the Paleocene period, which is 66 to 56 million years ago. It is considered to be the largest known member of the suborder Serpentes. Titanoboa is known from several fossils that date back to 58 to 60 million years ago. From extrapolations of body size made from excavated vertebrae (individual sections of the backbone) paleontologists have estimated that the body length of the average adult Titanoboa was roughly 13 meters (42.7 feet) long and an average weight of 1,135 kilograms (1.25 tons). Titanoboa is related to living anacondas and boas, but it is uncertain whether it was more closely related to one or another of these modern constrictor snakes. Spinosaurus Spinosaurus is a genus of Theropod dinosaur that lived in what is now North Africa during the lower Albian to lower Cenomanian stages of the Cretaceous period. This was about 112 to 97 million years ago. Tyrannosaurus Rex Tyrannosaurus, meaning "tyrant lizard", from the ancient Greek tyrannos, "tyrant", and sauros, "lizard" is a genus of Coelurosaurian Theropod dinosaur. It had a tremendous bite force, the strongest of any dinosaur and living terrestrial animal. Its bite force reached up to 12,800 pounds (roughly 5805 Kilograms). Woolly Mammoth the Wooly Mammoth (genus Mammuthus) was any member of an extinct group of elephants. They were found as fossils in Pleistocene deposits over every continent except Australia and South America, and in the early Holocene deposits of North America. The Pleistocene epoch began 2.6 million years ago and ended 11,700 years ago. The Holocene epoch began 11,700 years ago and continues to the present. Andrewsarchus All we know about the Andrewsarchus amounts to a single, three-foot-long, vaguely wolf-shaped skull that was discovered in Mongolia in 1923. While the skull clearly belongs to some type of mammal, there are obvious diagnostic markers by which paleontologists can distinguish between reptilian and mammalian bones. The lack of an accompanying skeleton has resulted in nearly a century of confusion and debate about what type of animal the Andrewsarchus really was. Liopleurodon Liopleurodon is a genus of large, carnivorous marine reptiles belonging to the Pliosauroidea, a clade of short-necked Plesiosaurs. The two species of Liopleurodon lived during the Callovian stage of the middle Jurassic period. Mosasaur Mosasaur (family Mosasauridae) is an extinct aquatic lizard that attained a high degree of adaptation to its marine environment and was distributed worldwide during the Cretaceous Period (145.5 to 65.5 million years ago). The Mosasaurs competed with other marine reptiles—the plesiosaurs and ichthyosaurs—for food, which consisted largely of ammonoids, fish, and cuttlefish. Many Mosasaurs of the Late Cretaceous were large, exceeding 9 meters (30 feet) in length, but the most common forms were no larger than modern porpoises. Megatherium Megatherium, largest of the ground sloths, is an extinct group of mammals belonging to a group containing sloths, anteaters, glyptodonts, and armadillos. This group of mammals underwent a highly successful evolutionary radiation in South America during the Cenozoic Era (beginning 65.5 million years ago). The size of these animals approximated that of a modern elephant, and they were equipped with large claws and teeth; the latter were confined to the sides of the jaw because the animal fed largely on the leaves of trees and bushes. Ground sloths appeared briefly in North America during the Pleistocene Epoch (2.6 million to 11,700 years ago) when a land connection was established between the American continents. Author: Harjap RandhawaMegalodon sharks are also called Carcharocles Megalodon, which is an extinct species of shark. They are one of the biggest predators that ever lived on Earth. Megalodon is a Greek word that means "big tooth". Some people think that the Great White Shark is a relative of the Megalodon but they are completely different.
Megalodon sharks can be at least 59 feet long and at most 79 feet long. It weighed 60 to 70 tons. Megalodon sharks existed as early as 23 million years ago and lasted until about 2.3 million years ago. Teeth are the most common fossil that is left of them. One tooth can be as long as 190 millimeters. Megalodon sharks could have eaten anything they wanted. Some things they ate were prehistoric whales, sea lions, dolphins and giant sea turtles (Oohh no save the turtles!). Mosquitos are a very dangerous animal that carry around all sorts of diseases such as Malaria, Dengue, and Zika. Few animals on earth evoke the antipathy that mosquitoes do. Their itchy, irritating bites and nearly ubiquitous presence can ruin a backyard bbq or a hike in the woods. They have an uncanny ability to sense our murderous intentions, taking flight and disappearing in seconds before being swatted at. Mosquitos are very annoying to repel but a handy dandy trick is to use bug spray. Facts
Eww, nobody wants to get bit by that thing! Thank you for reading, this is my blog. Author: Lexi DuncanChernobyl was a nuclear power plant in Russia. The Chernobyl disaster happened on Saturday, April 26, 1986 at the No. 4 nuclear reactor. The explosion is considered one of the two major disasters rated at a seven, which is the maximum severity. The accident occurred during a safety test for a RBMK-type nuclear reactor. This is a safety procedure for maintaining cooling water circulation until back-up generators can provide power. During the test, the cool water stopped circulating so the core of the reactor overheated. A large amount of energy was released all at once. This was immediately followed by an open-air reactor core fire that released considerable airborne radioactive contamination for about nine days, that precipitated into parts of the USSR and Western Europe. |
