Author: Avery HainesYou’ve heard of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Spiderman, Wolverine and Ben 10, but you’ve never heard of the real mutated animal...We, the two headed snake!
We was a two headed Albino Hermaphrodite Rat Snake. It was featured on national television and got a sponsorship deal from a pharmaceutical company. We was discovered by a McLennan woman after her dog chased it under the porch. We lived at Cameron Park Zoo and all of the kids liked to see it because the two heads didn’t know which way to go so, one head would go left and the other head went right. Could you imagine having an argument with yourself?! Sounds like a lose-lose situation. We was named “We” because We has male and female reproductive organs. After Cameron Park Zoo, We was moved to the World Aquarium in St. Louis in 1999, when We was no bigger than a pencil. They paid 15,000 dollars for him even though they knew mutated animals don’t live very long. We was on “Live with Regis and Kelly” and attracted over 1 million visitors in its lifetime. Unfortunately, We passed away on June 22, 2007. It was five feet long and was eight years old. It died of natural causes. We had a funeral and was mourned by many, since visitors would walk in and ask to see We. This snake was a phenomenon and now all of you can see it, as a taxidermist prepared the body of We the snake. |
